Technologies' Fundraising Success

The Technologies Faculty at Brechin High School recently ran a pop-up shop for a week where items made by students - with a little help from the Technical staff - were sold to members of the public. Mr Smith, PT Technologies, was keen to showcase the talents and skills of students through their work, and he arranged for all profits from the pop-up shop to go back into the community.

Mr Smith explained, "Students are an easy target for bad publicity but we have a great many outstanding young people, and it is only right to allow them to show the positive contribution that they can make by giving back to the local community".

Image shows Mr Smith presenting a cheque to Fiona Willis and Suzanne Jordan from the 1st Brechin Scout Group.

Fiona Willis explained that 1st Brechin Scouts have had a wish list of equipment for a while but they have never been able to purchase everything on it.  Now with the help that Brechin High School is giving them through the donation of £800 not only will they be able to buy everything that they require, they can also fund some of the costs of a forthcoming scout camp in September.

The Technologies Faculty is already planning its next fundraising venture with a Christmas Fair in November where all of the money raised from the faculty's stall will again go to a worthy cause within the local community.
